Four Arrested in Argentina Over Birthday Party Murder

Four people have been arrested and charged in connection with an investigation into a murder that occurred during a birthday party in the province of Mendoza, Argentina. The victim has been identified as Gerardo Mauricio Giménez Quintero. The murder took place on the morning of January 24th in a house in the Vina Costa Flores neighborhood of Luján de Cuyo, where the man was celebrating with family and neighbors. According to the investigation by the Homicides and Institutional Violence Unit, disturbances arose during the celebration due to loud noises and shouting. It was at that moment that Quintero was shot. Following initial advances in the investigation, four accused individuals were arrested and on Wednesday they were formally charged, sources in the case confirmed to the Argentine News Agency. The accused are Emiliano Miguel Briceño Castillo, Eugenia María Briceño Rodríguez, Rodrigo Jairo Castillo, and Brian Nahuel Gatica Briceño. The report from the Provincial Public Prosecutor's Office details that they were charged as co-authors of the crime of aggravated homicide, due to the concerted action of two or more people and for being committed with the use of a firearm.
